The Alameda Boys & Girls Club offers a rich menu of programs to educate, build skills, and support our members’ interests, needs, and development.

Power Hour/Open Tech Lab Homework help, access to computer lab for homework research or completion All members
Passport to Manhood Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility for boys via 14 highly interactive sessions reinforcing positive behaviors. Boys age 12-14
Smart Girls SMART Girls is a health, fitness, and self-esteem enhancement program designed for girls and young women, which includes activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women. Girls age 13-18
Career Launch This exciting small group program prepares teens for the working world as they explore careers, learn how to make sound educational decisions, and find success in the world of work. Club members age 13-18
Torch Club Torch Clubs are charter small-group leadership and service clubs through which Club staff can help meet the special character-development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Club members age 12-13
Keystone Club Keystone Clubs are chartered leadership and service clubs. Keystoners implement activities in six areas: service to Club and community, leadership development, education and career exploration, unity, free enterprise, and social recreation. Club members age 14-18
Money Matters Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence by building members’ basic money management skills. Club members age 13-18
Tech Lab – Skill Tech I Basic Training offers members the basics in computer skills through fun and age-appropriate online courseware. Club members age 13-18
Tech Lab – Skill Tech II This advanced yet practical computer skills class uses age-appropriate technology with an emphasis on computer hardware, networking and the Internet. Club members 13-18
Goals for Graduation Goals for Graduation introduces academic goal setting by linking member’s future aspirations with concrete actions today. Members formulate an action plan with achievable daily and weekly goals. Club members age 12-15

Click "Sign up now" and download the Boys and Girls Club application, get it signed by your parent or guardian, and bring it in to the Club at the Esperanza Community Center. While we’re in our temporary location, all members must be 12-18 years old.

Please note: The Alameda Boys & Girls Club is currently operating at a temporary location and is serving teens from ages 12 to 18 only at this time. When the new Clubhouse is completed in 2010, we will be pleased to again welcome boys and girls starting at age 6.
